My Warrior makes a snapping noise when moving in first gear. About every half second or so when moving and appears to be from the transmission. Only does it in first gear and not in any other gear. Also whenever I shut the engine off it makes a loud single snap noise almost like the starter is sticking in the flywheel and not releasing until the motor comes to a complete stop. Anyone have an idea what this could be and are the two things related? Other than that the quad is nice for an 87.

The noise you hear when shutting off the motor is the starter clutch. Needs replaced. The other noise could be your sprocket but since it is only first gear, I'm betting it's the gear in the transmission.

I have three warriors and they all my a clapping or snapping noise when you shut them off so I guess it's just the way the motors are, but the noise in 1st gear I don't really know
