New toy

Well ended up buying a new bike that needs some work from a friend for $450. Got a 1999 YZ 125 with various mods on it, not sure what all it has on it besides gold series headpipe, wiseco pistons and 250 race bike wheels/tires. Heres my problem, the powerband isn't kickin' very hard or at all in some cases. It kicks over in the first 1-3 kicks...... Not sure what else to say, it idles fine but cuts sometimes in the higher gear with 3/4 throttle or so. Not leakin' any oil or anything out the pipe. Anyone have any idea what i should do? Rejet maybe?

Check the jetting, clean the carb good, check the air filter of course. Maybe do a compression check, and take a look at the reeds. Bad reeds will make 2 strokes do all sorts of weird **** intermittently.

also if theres no oil injection make sure your mixing the gas right...to much oil would cause a Plug to foul.
