Well i took my jug to the machinist today with my .20 over namura piston. He took a look at the piston and said namura is junk. But my friend who is a atv mechanic said they were good. I only bought it because of the low price. Can someone with a Namura piston enlighten me on how they are?

Namura pistons are CAST pistons. Less then adequate in a high rpm, high abuse motor. They will last forever if you dont ride hard. But if you like to ride hard, that piston will not stay together. You will eventually break a skirt on the piston and kiss the bore and piston and possibly cases and crank, goodbye.

I use forged pistons like wiseco, JE, CP, ect. On any motor we build at the shop. But in motors were forged isn't available, ie most Honda 4x4s, a namura is a good choice among cast pistons.

Moral of the story, cast isn't as good as forged.
