May be a dumb question but... the stock anti vibration rubber dampers between the cooling fins...

Without them, running the quad in the garage I can hear all of the monkey movement in the top end (bike is stock). I have no problem with it, as I don't hear anything abnormal. I suspect the dampers would cut a lot of the noise, but what else good are they? Probably cover up a lot of heat sink cooling area too I'd imagine.

Anybody use/save 'em?
 
I kept em when i rebuilt mine. may not need em, but a solid mounted engine with cast aluminum big ass fins imo will maybe vibrate and crack off eventually?? idk, but i kept em. yamaha put em on my blaster too. if they are just there for noise i will ditch em also!!
 
they are there to keep the finns still beacause they can vibrate And break off and as a added bonus it quiets the motor a bit
