How do I know if my warrior is overheating?

It always seems really hot. I rode the other day for about 15 min and the exhaust guard burnt the living crap outa my leg. And the same time I lost spark. How hot do warriors usually run?

I had to push my quad 4 miles up and down hills on a gravel road. Finally a guy towed me back to the property. Sucky!
