H6M is the bulb you are looking for. ive explored my options in the past and it really depends on what route you want to go:

i want to hear more about these guys

in comparison to these guys

then youve got HID's
theres lots of kits out there that looks pretty simple and not too expensive in comparison to just new bulbs. i found these guys through this site and im pretty sure theres a handfull of people here that have em:

this is the high/low beam system. they also have a cheaper system that only has one beam. ive seriously thought about getting some HIDs. one guy posted a nice write up to remove any confusion about what to get for HIDs

....but then you can go the LED route.
Some people say they don't have the distance of HIDs but i just love the color display that an LED puts off. this is what ive been looking at for LEDs. its not a simple bulb replacement but it looks slick on warriors ive seen, and still, not too hard to do.

only thing you need is a harness to attach to the original harness. i don't have that bookmarked but there's a thread somewhere here that links you to a site that sells them. if i went this rough id probably just tag the wires and use snap connects.

Yup! I've looked. The bike shop would though. Else it's off to the internet. If the parts store had anything, it would be the PIAA's though, and you'd be dropping about $60 +tax. I think for what you are paying there's a lot better options and for cheaper, even with shipping.

I did a little night riding a few months ago, with the stock bulbs, and I couldn't do much besides just put around. I had the lighting but I couldn't see the dips and curves of the trail very well. I live in the desert. I decided that when I do break down and replace the bulbs, I'm going to get something that actually lets me see what's coming ahead of me. I'm pretty sure I roosted a javalina back then because I thought it was just a bush until it was right next to me.

If you're regularly night riding I would think about getting something cheaper and waaay better. Then tell me how great it is so I can copy your decision. Seriously though. HIDs. But I wonder how well the electrical tape eyes hold up to them. idk, stockies are halogens so meh. I just did it to my bike and it made me all sorts of giddy inside.
