Gen 1 vs. Gen 2 Heel Guards

Hello all:

I've been working on my '87. 'Bought it without any heel guards. 'Saw a set on eBay for $30 (shipping included), so I bought them. They don't fit. Were the Gen 1 heel guards different than the Gen 2s? I checked the guards that I bought on eBay against those on our 2000 and 2001 models, and they're identical.

buy foot pegs for a 2nd gen and bolt them on yours, then they will fit

you'll still have to fab brackets to bolt them to the subframe

Oh yeah forgot, buy 2 $0.79 3/4" cushion clamps for the sub frame, that's what I used for temporary mounts.
