I changed oil on a recently aquired Warrior (1987) and I was surprised to find it (the oil) very gasoline smelling. Could anyone shed a little light on this subject?

it could have been very very flooded at one time and the gas got past the rings into the oil... if it runs, run it (with new oil of course)

Thanks for your reply....I'm going to ride it a few times and keep my eye on it. I will change oil again and see whats happening with it.

Took her out yesterday and rode the B-Jesus out of it....Changed oil after and no sign of gasoline in the oil.

yep that happens when people keep pushing the throttle when its turned off and the gas makes its way past the piston rings, one of my friends lost his crank bearings in his yfz from this
