And as a side note, if everything fits together, Jbweld sticks better to CLEAN, UNGROUND cast aluminum. If you notice all the pores in the broken edges, these will hold Jb weld better than ground Cast, because cast aluminum is so soft, when you grind it, you're basically filling all these pores and therefore making a smoother surface. And there should be no need to grind the smooth face of the piece, you're not sticking anything to the outside of your block are you? =) There should only be JB weld on the porous edges (remember the ones that used to be connected?) And just one more thing.... You cannot grind oil off, or for that matter use a tack rag. You MUST wash oil off with laquer thinner or acetone. (Paint thinner and laquer thinner are two different things, and paint thinner should be used for house paint cleanup only, not oil removal. And some degreasers will actually make for a worse bond.
