So I had to rip my head and jug off the warrior the other day to replace the base gasket since it was leaking pretty badly. I tore it all apart and put it all back together...

now the quad starts fine and runs awesome, good power.

BUT now it smokes when i first start it up cold... smokes pretty badly.. it goes away after about 5 min of riding.

i am certain that when i reinstalled the piston i had the rings end gap at a Y so no holes lined up...

any ideas?

dang, so my ring are fine i dont have to take the jug back off riht?

yeah, I'm guessing valve seals as well. I know I need new ones on mine.

Dang every time I fix one thing I mess another thing up haha

One other possibility is if you changed the oil. Different grade of oil that maybe a little thinner than the previous. Wouldn't actually "cause" it to smoke but if the previous oil was thicker it could have masked the problem that is causing it to smoke.

same rings, same piston.

it stops after 5 min riding..

my question now is can i reuse the same head gasket iinstalled 4 days ago?
