Hot rod bling head
I...I just can't help myself! While the top end is off, I gutted the head and fired up the die grinder. Ported the seat to bowl transitions, ground the guide bosses down a bit, and hand sanded with 150 grit. May take a stone to them before reassembly just for fun.
Deburred, sanded and polished the chamber, too. Do all of these heads have the crappy deck surface like this one has (the giant half moon "low" spot at the top of the pic, in the quench area). It wasn't corroded, it was cast this way:
Zippity frickin' doo dah! :loco:
Anybody ever try this? Worth any gains on a stock engine?
