Use what is recomend in the manual. What I've found works best is yamalube 15w-40.

dude you need a friend who owns a quad to come over and get you squared away.......read your manual....read some of the old posts in relevance to your questions and you will find the answers......you can include all your questions in one post.....Oil standards keep changing and the companies do keep up...name brand oils and synthetics surpass these ratings by far.....the wal mart oils pass them as well but not by much......yamalube is someone's oil with their name on it....the choice is yours just read the manual for recommended viscosity

I like to use Amsoil 20-50 VTwin oil. Very heavy duty oil for air cooled engines.
