Accelerator Pump Question

Hey all,
I was re-jetting my carb last night and i want to ask how much does your accelerator pump plunger travel?

With the bowl off i push it all the up, then actuate the throttle. MIne only moves about about 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch.

I'm thinking of modding the actuating arm so that it pushes the plunger down more.

(yes i've stretched the spring an it works fine) Just seems like it should have more travel, and start sooner.

thats about all mine moves. if you do mod the arm, i would be interested in how/ if it works.

Thats about all the stock carbs accelerator pump dose move, it almost seems pointless.
