What is involved. i want to take it off so I can install a direct mount shifter. I know just unbolt it but does it have a different flywheel or anything to grab the pull start?
 
I'm pretty sure you don't need any special parts other than just the cover and gasket. I'm not absolutely positive though, so it wouldn't hurt to go through one of the online oem parts stores and compare part numbers.
 
Yeah, good idea! Thanks. And as far as needing the pull start goes, if my battery dies or the starter goes for some reason then I'll push start it and go get a new battery or starter.
