My quad idles and boggs, someone said it may be the stator. How do you tell if the stator is bad. And what else could cause idle and bogg issues?

I have a 1989 warrior that needs a rear caliper and master cylinder. Front A arms and a few other misc things. I can buy an 87 for parts but wanna make sure they will work.
