I've never pulled a full motor out of a bike, but I've got a fairly built banshee that I''ve messed with here and there so i'm not a complete newb ya know.
I've been wanting to do a tear down on my 2001 warrior and have the frame powder coated. My question is, how big of a job is this? Is the motor and everything a pain to take out? Anything really major I will run in too?
I don't want to get myself into something that is going to take months...
Sorry to bring this thread back up top. But does anyone have anymore information on doing this modification to the stock head pipe? Is it worth it?
Any pics?
Yeah Elwood, that is kind of what I was thinking. I run the Ron Woods intake on my YFZ450 and i sure wish they made one for the warrior. Almost like a car intake that ditches the air box completely
Right now I'm running a clamp on K&N filter with the air box lid off. I've been thinking about cutting the bottom of the airbox for more air flow, and also to clear the rear banshee shock I will be installing soon.
My question is, will I see any gains from opening the airbox more instead of...
I've done tear downs on banshee's in the past with no issues. Removing the suspension isn't a problem, I've done extended swingarms on my dune bikes in the past.
Is there anything specific I need to know before pulling the motor? Any wiring to watch out for? Anything I need to remember to...
I've been wanting to have the frame on my 02 warrior powder coated black. My question is, how big of a pain is it to take the motor out and get it all stripped down to the bare frame? The only thing stopping me is I don't want this to be more work than its worth.
Thanks!
