figured i would share how i did my tail light if anyone out there is trying to come up with a cool simple way to do LED tail on their bike...
first i picked up a LED tail light form ebay for $13 shipped... these do hold up great! i have used them on snowmobiles and bikes in the past... just be sure you order from a US seller or you will wait forever!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-M...Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f72f198f&vxp=mtr
then took some scrap alum and traced out the shape i wanted to cut for the mount. i started by drilling a hole in the stock so that i could get the wires though, then put the lamp on the piece and traced it and marked for the mount holes
from there cut it out with a grinder, and smooth the edges with a file and belt sander
then mark for the bend..., did the bend by putting it in a vice and using a piece of wood and mallet to get a smooth curve. i drilled 3 holes 1 is already on the back of the quad, the other 2 i made a bit smaller so that i can run rivits in there to keep it from spinning and help secure it nice and tight!
some black texture powder
all done and in use
same light on my ZR440, holds up very well
