Thanks in advance to anyone who is taking the time to look at this - with that said how do you remove the springs on a valve to replace the oil seal? Do you need to
A) remove the cam?
B) remove the head?
C) somehow remove the lifter?
D) use C4 and forget it?

I have a spring compressor and all that happy crap, just no idea on how to do the labor. I have a service guide and it does not have any info on this process, (i guess yamaha thought you could strongarm though it) anyways all help is appreciated.

When i compressed my valves i used a big c-clamp and the open end of a wrench. It was the only way i could get em.

yeah thanks for the input, i said f' it and bought a cam yesterday, we are going riding in this ice storm/snow crap saturday and will pull the engine afterwards. didn't really want to go ape with breaking it down but you can't sell a smoking bike in these parts for squat.
