chevy cam= computer problems?

im looking at a 92 chevy 1500 4x4 pick up the guy says it has a rebuilt motor by pors but no paper work and a cam. would a cam mess with the computer since its tbi? one of by buddies said itll through everyhthing out of whack ? any help would be great thanks

92 chevys use a tbi and a map sensor which the computer uses to add fuel. cam changes vacuum, which the map sensor reads. there are computer compatible cams that do not have a wild change from factory vacuum that do not require reprogramming. but a cam change on a chevy is cheap anyway if you can wrench. parts are plentiful, and that bodystyle is bulletproof if its right.
