Hi I have bought a Yamaha Terrapro YFP350 with spark plug issues.

It seams to kill the spark plug if i don't disconnect the coil lead.
The problem is when its lift connected it won't start. when i check for spark it does something very unusual and confusing, when I earth the spark plug there is no spark but if I move it away 1 or 2mm it sparks on the spark plug points and between the outside of the spark plug to the frame/earthing point.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When u say earthed, I take it you mean grounded. Seems to be a grounding issue. You shouldn't be seeing spark if It's not grounded. It has to be grounding somewhere else or it wouldn't spark. Have u tried another spark plug? Could be a bad coil too

Yeah sorry I do mean grounded. I always end up on the computer quite late in the evening. not many brain cells left by then:sleep:

I have gone through 3 new plugs over 4 days a few weeks ago. I just haven't had the time to have a good look at the quad yet.
