My top end clatters a little bit. The valves are adjusted within limits. I heard that it was the nature of this engine to clatter a little. Should i be worried?

noise

its proly normal, mine makes noise too and all my buddies with yamahas make the same noise. tick tick tick tick tick u just have to get used to it i guess?

Thanks for the replies ya'll. I guess i won't worry about it. Nobody i know has a wolverine so i don't have anything to compare it to.

If you think it's loud now, wait till you put in a high(er) performance camshaft! Tic-tic-tic becomes GAK-GAK-GAK...(tho you don't notice as much cause you're trying to hang-on)

Yhea I think it is kind of inherant to this engine. my 450 makes a valve ticking noise and so does my old 80cc yamaha. nothing to worry about.

I was wondering about the same problem. I thought it was valves after my mods. But they're fine. Good to know it's safe.
