I have a problem with starting my old 1998 wolvy I put in a stage 1 cam and now it doesn't start to easily I tied starting with the choke still isn't any better. It also make a knocking sound while it turning over in the starter. Once it starts an warms up it starts perfect. Just can't figure it out. Tried cleaning out the carb I put a battery charger on the battery to make shure I had full charge. I have lots of power . And the power range is good from bottom to top end I get about 60 mph / 100 kmh omg easy with.

Any thoughts?

you battery is weak, stage cam raise the valfe faster than stock cam so it need more power to the starter. try starting with a booster if not better maby your starter is defect.
