Starting and Idling issue

I have a 1998 Yamaha warrior. The only way I can start it is to popstart it while being pulled, however it will not idle once started. I have to keep revving the gas to keep it going. It rides fine, just cant stop. Any ideas? I am very new to this...

I would do a compression test, clean the carb and check the stator to make sure you are within the ohm specs.

I have cleaned the carb. Replaced the solenoid. Checked starter motor. Checked battery. I get nothing when I hit the switch. When I jump the solenoid the starter motor runs but doesnt actually start the engine. I will do the conpression test and was just looking into checking the stator. Thank you!
