I have a Warrior that I am working on and when I turn the motor by hand it will turn maybe a half turn and then it hits something and won’t go any further. I was going to remove the head/top end to try to find out whats going on but the shop manual says that you have to turn the motor to TDC to take the chain off so I can get the head off. I am wondering if I take the timing chain sprocket loose and try to get the chain off as it is am I going to have a major problem? I am not sure what was done to it but I know when I took the covers off it smelled very strong like starting fluid.
