Problems going in reverse

So i have a 2001 yamaha warrior 350 and for some reason my reverse shifter works completely fine. However the reverse does not work correctly at all.
Is their any way to completely remove the reverse mechanism so that it will stop doing the following
When switching to reverse its almost impossible to put quad back into neutral.
Has a trouble time going back into forward

I dont use the reverse and i never really needed it. Is there any way to delete it from the motor? Obviously the reverse sensor and the shift grrove needs to stay but yeh. Any help will be appreciated

If it cant be deleted is there any way to no matter what keep it in forward

use a vice grip to switch the reverse to forward and just don't use reverse untill you replace the reverse lever

it was the shift nob in the motor it wasnt the correct one somehow
