Hi Guys,

Due to some messed up discs in my back I'm trying to make my ride softer so I can enjoy it more. One such item is the seat. I noticed my son's Warrior's seat is much softer than my Raptor's seat. In fact mine is rock hard. It could be aftermarket but I'm not sure. We both purchased these used some years ago.

I was going to to see if a local upholstry shop could recover my seat with soft foam but then noticed these on eBay for $75. Wow can't be the price but are they soft? Has anyone used these?

Warrior is 03 and Raptor is 07

Thanks

I have original seats from both and have rode both. The Warrior seat is softer and thicker foam. The Raptor seat is denser and thinner. I have back issues with damaged disc, too. I actually had a more comfortable ride on the Raptor 350 vs the Warrior as the seating position is at a less squat position(seat is higher than the foot pegs). But, I am also looking to add to my seat and make it a bit thicker. I found a couple guys on youtube and forums use an extra layer, or more, of household carpet padding to add thickness to their seats. Some replacement covers appear to allow extra material to do this, or you could get your own vinyl material to cover it yourself. I want to try it out and add it this winter.

Honestly, you usually sit for smoother and casual riding. I ride all-out, all the time, and I'm usually not on the seat much. If you do casual and trail riding more, lifting the handlebars might help out a decent amount. A extended steering stem or bolt on bar risers.

I rode a Warrior at the Silver Lake dunes and my back was killing me from the low squat position. I've taken 2 weekend trips with the Raptor 350 and had no pain after hard riding besides arm pump. Also, after making and building seats for other dumb toys, fabric store seat foam is worthless and is way to light.

And, I would bet that Caltric seat is probably softer than the original. If you pop your seat off, the bottom will have something like 5YT-00 and a build date code if its original.

Look into Ceet or hi flite foam.

Thanks I looked at both of those. The Ceet was interesting as you can select soft, medium or firm for foam density when ordering a foam replacement for your seat but they only do Raptor 660 and 700 seats, not the 350.

I couldn't find info on Hi Flite foam density but they only supported the Warrior or Raptor 660/700 seats as well.

Yup you are totally correct about riding positions. When I ride my sons Warrior 350 it feels very awkward to me. Almost like I'm on a Harley with hanger bars or something. He loves it but I much prefer the Raptor's riding position. Most the time I'm on my knees for suspension and like you said you'll feel it in your arms and for me knees and legs later. At times I would like to sit or take a break from non stop standing & hanging on but the suspension is so rough and hard I can't. It's either stand or stop riding lol.

I think almost anything would be softer than my seat so that Caltric probably is. I'll take a look on the underside of mine and see if I can find any factory style codes and or dates. Thanks.

I seen your other post. I'd try the drw link or something to soften the rear suspension and put better shocks on the front first. The stock front shocks are stiff and transfer a lot of energy to the rider. I put an extended swingarm on the back of mine that softened it up a ton(I like it) and used YFZ450 shocks and wide arms up front. Its insane how much more comfortable it is to ride. I'm only trying something on the seat to help with hard blows from rough riding.
