Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

OK so guess what...I changed the plug and it runs so much better! I never thought a plug would make that much difference on a 4 stroke. I guess I'd never changed the plug in it cause it had some weird Champion brand plug (not even the right one), and I run exclusively NGK when I put in different...

    5-speed warrior??

If it's got the stock warrior engine, it should be 6 speed. Before I bought my warrior (a 99), the guy who had it said that 6th gear went out. He took it to some mechanic and got it fixed. It would be a big job.

Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

OK so I decided I'm going to buy a carb kit tomorrow. It has all the O-rings and most of the brass parts and it's $23 from a dealer that's in a nearby town. So I'll use basically everything in the kit and see if that helps. I'll replace the plug and check the intake boot on the cylinder for any...

Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

Wow thanks for all the uber quick replies! I don't have a car at the moment so I can't go get a new plug yet, but I probably could a little later today.

Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

I haven't checked the needle notch yet. What's the stock position? I'll be taking the carb apart for like the 5th time soon so I'll check then. Whoever put on the pipe did not jet the carb, so maybe they just adjusted the needle.

Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

By the way, the carb seems to get gas all over the exterior of itself, I was thinking maybe it needs a new gasket between the bowl and the rest of the carb. Could that be part of the problem?

Warrior Running Rich With Aftermarket Parts

Hey guys. I hope somebody can help shed some light on this one.... So my warrior has been sitting for a while since it broke the woodruff key. I fixed that, then it wouldn't idle except on choke. So I go through the carb real good and fixed that issue. Then the recoil "blew up" and the...

    Warrior 350 Idling Problems

Hey everyone sry for not replying. I thought I would get email alerts when I got replies but I don't. Anyway I fixed it. Turned out that it was bad gas, a spring missing from my pilot air screw (so it screwed itself all the way in), and a little junk that was sticking to the end of my pilot...

    Exhaust Comparison

I've been reading this thread a little and I feel like posting my opinion. Another vote for HMF. I've never actually had an HMF but that's what I'm planning on buying since I like the sound of them. More than anything I care about how a pipe sounds. I currently have an FMF MegaMax II and I...

    Quad Boggs out and dies

Sounds to me like it's running just a little rich. Had you done any carb adjustments/modifications/repairs before you noticed this problem? This is definitely a simple carb issue, and can be solved by changing your main jet or adjusting the needle placement.

    new chain and sprocket

Yeah, you can, but you may find you have to buy a longer chain. Usually if you go up more than 2 on the front or 5 or 6 on the rear you will need a new chain.

    warrior not starting

I too would say it has almost no compression by the sound of it, but then it backfired. So it would seem that it was pulling fuel through the carb. I don't understand the backfire, if it won't start, how was your exhaust hot enough to cause that? Or maybe you'd been cranking for a really long...

    Warrior 350 Idling Problems

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything, I've been real busy with work. Anyway, for those of you who don't know, my trusty Warrior has not been running for several months (turned out it broke the woodruff key. Then it broke it again since I didn't use the genuine Yamaha part)...

    Warrior not revving quite right....

I just put a UNI pod filter on my Warrior and so I bought a bigger main jet. I bought a 152.5. Keep in mind that my quad has an FMF pipe on it and I also dumped my air box. I would think this jet would be too rich if anything, but when I tested my Warrior, it seems to be too lean. When it revs...
