87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

My compression is at 110 psi. From what I'm seeing on other forum posts, the minimum should be 114, but it wasn't specifically for the 87 model. Would that 4 psi difference be enough for it to not run?

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

Would holding the clutch while starting not eliminate it as a possibility?

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

Well it's nearly perfectly lined up so it should be fine, unless that little amount is enough to mess it up

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

No luck unfortunately, the new intake boot did not fix it. Still repeatedly trying to start and making terrible clicking noises. Someone who owns a lot of warriors is coming to check it out tomorrow so hopefully they figure out something

Yep it's ordered, just waiting for it to get here now

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

Found 2 small tears in the rubber boot holding the carburetor to the engine and I also realized the engine only sounds like it's trying to start whenever the choke is pulled out. Gonna order a new one and hope it has something to do with the air fuel ratio being messed up

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

Here's an update: Tested again to make sure it wasn't the starter. Tried to start it with the ignition coil disconnected, worked just fine, no jolting as the starter smoothly kept turning over the engine. Plugged the ignition coil back onto the spark plug and it started jolting again. In both of...

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

I'm not sure about that, the weird part is the starter seems to crank just fine before I put fuel in it. Perhaps I should try again with no fuel to double check.

87 Warrior, jolts when trying to start

Still trying to get my 87 Warrior fixed up. Whenever I try to start it now, it seems to jolt and make a noise like the engine is getting stuck, but to be honest I have no idea what it could be. Any ideas would help, video attached.

Inconsistent Spark, Don't know what to do next

Getting an OEM key switch did the trick. The spark is perfect now. Unfortunately though there are other issues to attend to

Inconsistent Spark, Don't know what to do next

Alright just bought it off of partzilla. The yamaha parts website wanted me to spend $20 more on shipping. I'll give an update when it arrives and I install it

Inconsistent Spark, Don't know what to do next

It seems like this is also the same thing for a bit less? https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/1UY-82510-02-00?gclid=Cj0KCQjwk7ugBhDIARIsAGuvgPbe1DMoxqlFoj8AKiv_g92D6OJmY7KblSghwRVHxIfvB5bEEOEXrE0aAn1rEALw_wcB

Inconsistent Spark, Don't know what to do next

Would this be the genuine 87 key switch? https://www.yamahapartsmonster.com/oemparts/p/yamaha/1uy-82510-09-00/main-switch-assembly I'd rather not pay so much for something like that, but if there's no other choice then alright

Inconsistent Spark, Don't know what to do next

Just as the title says, I have inconsistent spark. I have a 1987 warrior 350 and whenever I hold the start button, it'll spark once and then not spark again for another 10 or so revolutions. I've replaced the cdi, stator, ignition coil, spark plug, and also got a new key ignition switch from...

87 Warrior 350: Needing list of all bolts

Found a list of parts and diagrams on partspitstop.com, all I gotta do is order them, just haven't gotten to it yet. Mainly still dealing with spark issues

Ah that's also a good idea, thank you for the suggestion

87 Warrior 350: Needing list of all bolts

In short, this warrior I got is real old and it looks like the previous owner left it in a swamp and never cleaned it off or dried it because most bolts and screws are either stuck in like super glue, or so old and rusted they instantly strip. I'm tired of dealing with stripped screws and rusty...

1987 Warrior 350: Confused about ignition coil wire

Thank you, I'll look at it when I can. Don't have the money for it currently

1987 Warrior 350: Confused about ignition coil wire

Installed the new ignition coil and soldered a wire to extend the ground wire. Put a female quick disconnect on it and then connected that to the spade on the coil. Still no spark. The main fuse is good and I was looking for a manual for the 87 to do stator tests, but had no luck. I also...
