    yess the 400 complete engine are direct swap , only need to modify the frame cylinder head stay bracket. but for the price it is easyer to change only the clutch , but the thirn first geare of a bb 400 are slower too.

    you must learn to jet a carburetor if you want to do mod on your bike . if you wont bring your bike to mechanic.

    you battery is weak, stage cam raise the valfe faster than stock cam so it need more power to the starter. try starting with a booster if not better maby your starter is defect.

    you should get higher pilot jet and raise the needle. then try higher main jet. k&n filter is bitch to tune with a free flow filter. lean jetting should produce backfire and pigning, very lean condition will shut the engine. rich condition produce burpeling and wont rev up but will not shut...

    Clutch kit/bore?

    you need to swap the two clutch from a big bear 400. the primary and the secondary clutch. the big bear 400 clutch have higher gear ratio , you will be slower but stronger !
