FYI - My buddy put Sand Stars on his quad. The ATV would shake pretty bad. He aired it down to 4 PSI and it stopped shaking. Air pressure was too high.

Update: Last week my buddy installed his shocks. Bolted right up, no problem. I got my new bushings in the mail this week. They were real easy to swap out. After that, the shock pin fit like a glove. 15 minutes and I had the rear shock swapped out. Tomorrow I'll give them a test...

Just be aware that ripping the guts out make the exhaust illegal to ride on most public lands. That's a $239 ticket here in Oregon. Money better spent on a proper exhaust...

Update - Still waiting on the part they said they were shipping me. I talked to another tech and he indicated the brass insert was easy to swap out. My buddy also received his shocks - but hadn't had time to install them yet....

The less air in the tire, the wider the footprint. That not only means better traction in mud, but also snow, sand, and even gravel and loose dirt. Also, lower pressures absorb vibration (like a trail that is all rock) and also when your tire hits a big rock it absorbs more of the shock. But...

The rear suspension on the new Wolfy 450 leave a lot to be desired. It's a poor performer in whoops - serious butt spanker. Adjustments are about useless. Anyone here done an upgrade to an after market shock? If so, what brand and how do you like it?
