Take out the spark plug and look into it with a flashlight at bottom dead center. It will say 1uy if stock, if high compression it will have a big hump in the middle and a few numbers on top that will tell you compression ratio and bore size if you look it up.

Check all the engine mounts. Are you running an air box? If no the air box supports the carb and you need to supoort it to prevent ripping. Was it a cheapie eBay boot? They suck, you have to go OEM for them to last.

I don't even think these are interference engines in stock form. Lots of people shearing cam pins after rebuilds with no valve contact.

You would be correct with the woodruff key then. That was going to be my next suggestion. Lol

Intake boot between the carb and motor. I bet it is ripped.

My caltric stator on my 87 has been working fine for 4 years. How long have you had it? They should just send you a new one no questions asked.

Start it and check the voltage while running at idle. Post up the results.

The performance carbs need.to be rejetted out of the box. The jets in them suck. Are you the same kid from Facebook?

Yup go to the the 147 main. Throw a little propane torch heat on.the screw and cool it with pb blaster. Should come right out.

Have you rejetted either of the carburetors?

It should as far as I know.
