so i guess its time that i start a build thread. ill be posting questions related to my build here whenever i can. it is a 97 Warrior 350 , i plan to restore/upgrade as i can afford it. ideally i would like to get pretty detailed , even as far as nickel electroplating , and powder coating at home.

so far i have cleaned it up, replaced break pads , replaced the twist throttle with an OEM thumb throttle. just ordered a grease gun and a primary drive chain and sprocket kit , and chain rollers.

ithings on the TO DO LIST include (in no particular order), exhaust, big bore, LED font bulb conversion, TIRES! lol need tires bad OEM card restoration, plastic restoration, check valve clearances.banshee rear shock, much much more im surte ill add along the way

is there any areas that i should give attention to ? any recommendations at all im open to learning just about anything. i think you will see that im a pretty capable noob!

so i replaced the front and rear sprocket and chain, my front was missing some teeth! and polished the plastics. took the haze right out of them but they are still faded /not as vibrant where it wasnt covered by sticker for 20 years. the chain rollers off amazon were trash , i dont want to have to modify my frame to fit the rollers , ill find something closer to OEM, oh and i greased the zerk fittings

i think my front wheel bearings need replaced soon , they roll , but are making a very slight noise. and started running ethanol free gas! heard its better.

Lookin pretty fresh. Its a little thing but taking off thay rusty hitch mount was a good choice... who pulls a trailer with a warrior anyways?
New tires are gonna make it look like a brand new quad. What kind you thinking of getting?

lol i was using it to take the garbage down to the end of the driveway! i agree it was an eyesore though.
as far as tires go , likely gonna grab a cheap set for now as my current situation is bad they are little dry rotted , got tire plugs in them, no tread lol i believe they are the original Dunlop tires. im lookin at the SunF knobby tires 4 for 195.

the new chain and sprocket feel really good.

trying to buy a blaster , couple prospects require motor work, will the warrior crank case separator work on the blaster as well ?

$750 for a 2000 blaster 200 that needs a rebuild , also comes with the rebuild kit , i think thats a good deal.

so my right rear wheel is wobbling , i noticed when putting on new tires that wheel one of the studs was little messed up, im hoping its the hub and not the spindle , i dont really notice any extreme wobble when riding especially in the woods. anyone have any experience in this area?

for tires i got some cheapo sunf tires 21x7x0 and 20x10x9 little smaller than stock get better tires latejust needed some damn tread lol

castle nut and cotter pin are good, im hoping one of the 4 lobes of the hub are the issue , and a replacement fixes it. and the tires are doing thieir job, not bad , althought i was having fun sliding around the wet grass doing donuts without tearing up the lawn lol cant do that anymore

so the bike wont start ! been riding fine , parked it , went to move it in the garage for the night , and could not get it to start. i dont ride it to crazy hard , never rev it real high or anything and just did an oil /oil filter change recently. in the process of trying to start it i got a backfire a few times , ordered a socket to check the plug, hopefully its just a fouled plug ? if thats not the issue , whats next compression test?

When mine did that it was a partially sheared flywheel key but I also had carb issues at that time

oh my ! that sucks!! fortunately for myself it was only a fouled plug, and also luckily i ordered a sparkplug , the one that was in the amo-can on the back was the wrong size! with the new plug it started right up.

i dont know how old that plug was but now i can try to keep an eye on it and maybe adjust something if im running to rich, the plug was pretty black and it did not clean off.

okay i think im pretty sure im running to rich, i pulled the plug yesterday out of curiosity and its black, so i need to adjust the carburetor i think i may get that ZOOMZOOM adjustment screw, will prbly make things easier.

another possible sign of running to rich. I just noticed that if punch full throttle it boggs out . but if I'm like already moving I can rev it out all the way.

I haven't yorn into this carb it was brand new when I got the bike. it's some kind of clone carb. still need to clean up the oem one

Check your needle clip mine was bogging at mid throttle but if I shifted I could rev it out you may have to go up or down on the needle and those fuel adjuster from zoom zoom work great it makes it so much easier to adjust
