    Sparky; thats the plan I think. I have read a bunch of threads of how easy it is to rebuild, but I picked up the 98 motor pretty cheap and its all there. Just not sure about electronics CDI, wire harness, stator etc. Once I pulled the drain plug, I walked away from it. So I will prob start a 89...

    the oilfilter was sucked up into the case. They used a brass filter. Parts from trans and pieces from starter (where it engages motor...on car would be flywheel). Can hear piston and valve slap.

    Just bought my 1st quad (89 warrior 350) for $400. Guy said he got it off someone who owed him rent. Played on it for a couple days, decided I would put some money into it...and it all went down hill from there. Pulled the oil drain plug....and chunks of metal fell out. Wrong oil filter...

    Now that I am reading this post I may try to rebuild my 89 motor. :) But I already bought a 98 motor ugh!
