    Motor No Start

Well it's been almost a year. It took several months to get my head back, but finally got the motor bolted back up. Set valves, timing, new plug. Fired on the first try. I really appreciate all the help you guys provided!!! Gonna do some tweaking and breaking in tomorrow.

I didn't think so. How would you recommend removing it? I already tried driving it out with a punch...no luck.

Top Rear Motor Mount Hole Question

There is something inside the motor mount hole on the upper rear mount hole of my motor. Is this normal?? I've trying tapping it out with no luck. Below are pictures. I just wanted to check with you guys before I keep pounding or start drilling it out. Thanks!

Valve Kits / Top End Rebuild Kits

Thanks guys. Does anyone other than Yamaha OEM sell an 83.5mm piston that you know of? Will I have to do anything special if I go with an 84mm aside from boring the cylinder?

Who's been hurt on an ATV?

My youngest brother was out riding in a field several years ago and caught a barbed wire fence with his neck. Just about killed him. Lots of stitches.

    Motor No Start

Since I'll be pulling the head, what all would you guys do? I don't want to spend a ton of money, but want to make sure I won't be pulling the head again too soon.

    Motor No Start

lol, yeah that's what I told my wife earlier. "Well, since I've gotta pull the head I may as well have it bored out a little".

    Motor No Start

Thanks for that info Yamahauler! I compression tested after adjusting the valves, and the compression is up about 10psi. No Throttle - 100psi WOT - 110psi I put a little oil in the plug hole and: No Throttle - 120psi WOT - 130psi So.... Does that mean I need to tear the head down and work on...

Exhaust - .175 Intake - .009 Intake was close to .2 when I checked it. I thought intake was good until I realized 2 plates in the gauge were stuck together. I painted the tappets while I had em off so now I'm waiting for paint to dry, then I'll try to test compression again. Thanks!

With crank web on T both rockers have a little play. I'm guessing this is normal. Sorry if all of this is really elementary. This is my first atv motor lol

Just removed the intake and exhaust tappets to do the valve clearance check. Noticed the exhaust rocker has some play while the intake is very solid with no play. Is there any significance to that?

Thanks! I'll try and check it this afternoon.

I didn't check clearance yet, does it require any special tools? I'll try that with the oil too. Thanks!
