What are the signs of a bad or weak stator?

I've got an old 87 that has always run perfect and still does. For the last year, it takes a ton more cranks to get her to start after sitting overnight. Starts up just fine when warm. Seems like it's taking a while to get fuel to the carb after a long sit. Any ideas? Float?

Just wondering how you guys know when it's time to replace a starter. I've got a fresh battery but she seems to turn over pretty slow. Also, does not start well when hot. Been using the same starter for 18 years but thinking of ordering a new one before she strands me.

What's a decent quiet aftermarket muffler for my 87 Warrior? My 87 is my bowhunting rig so I do want to keep her nice and quiet. Getting tough these days to find a nice used OEM muffler.

Add Brake Light to a 1987 (DONE!!) Parts of lower Michigan now allow ATV's on some of the roads. If riding at night you must have a brake light that is brighter then your tail light. Of course my old 87 Warrior does not have a brake light. Any way to add one?
