Update: I finally got somewhere that I could run my quad wide open. I found that it sputters at high rpms in any gear and in neutral. I pulled the choke and it still did it. I did a plug check, and it's a nice tan color. It idles fine, throttle response is crisp, and it doesn't backfire...
I ride about 2-3 times a month. Mostly trails, some mud. My rotors are scored but not warped. It's probably the mud that eats the pads now that I think about it. The trails are tight and twisty, and I ride through them as fast as the quad will go. I think I need a sport quad...maybe a Raptor.
My front brake pads only last one season of riding (Apr-Aug). I trail ride mostly. I ride very aggresively. Is that just the nature of the beast? Am I expecting too much out of the pads? I've used HBC and Tusk pads. They last about the same amount of time. Thoughts?
I put the HMF pipe, a 145 main jet and K&N filter in today. It really wakes up the motor. It idles fine, and has crisp throttle response, so I guess the main jet change was all it needed. Wheelies are easy now with just the throttle. If i tug on the bars, it will stand straight up. Fun times!!
My stock exhaust has rusted out on my 05 Wolvy. I'm about to pull the trigger on an HMF slip on and a K&N Filter. Here's the question. Should i just change the main jet like HMF recomends, or get a dynojet kit and do the main, needle, fuel screw, and drilling?
Thanks in advance.
boomsling...
I had the same problem. I put a fuel filter on the vent line that runs up to the air intake. It keeps the dirt out of the vent line. No problems anymore.
My Warn 424 button sticks all the time. Usually when i put it back in 2WD, the button won't pop all the way out and it goes back to 4WD. I have to use some pliers to make it work. Ive taken it apart and cleaned it a million times. It seems like the spring in the knob is worn out. Anybody...
i keep mine on the softest setting. i found that it handles best for me this way. i'm 190lbs and it bottoms out on jumps bigger than 3 ft or so. my .02
