Been trying to install a newer rear carrier on my 87. Got the top bolt in, but the bottom one will not line up correctly. What have others done to make this mod work? I want to keep the 87 swinger on there. Anyone?

They won't interchange you need a first gen carrier.

You have to grind the bottom fork down for it to line up correctly. To much of a pain in the ass over 1 lousy inch

Got it all figured out! I cut out the bottom bolt tube and lowered it 1/4". Then welded it all back together! Works like a charm!
