pull the plug and turn the motor till that line is lined up with the mark on the head (the little nub at the top) ..... then there is black plastic plug with a slot in it on the stator cover take that out and see if you can see a "T" in there

thanks if the t doesnt shoow then what do i do?

if the "T" doesnt line up then line the "T" up the window see how far the timing is off then you have 2 options

1) temporary fix take the cam gear and the timing chain tensioner off then adjust the cam and gear to line up with the timing mark on the head and reset the tensioner

2) proper fix buy a new timing chain and do everything in option 1 but add remover the old timing chain and replace with the new one

also check the guides

If the T is lined up and the cam mark is that far off you may have sheared your flywheel key.

yeah my timing is off its probley cause the chain is loose,you think this would cause it to just barely move?

yes it will time for a new timing chain

your going to need a flywheel puller once you have that it just a matter of draining the oil, removing the chain tensioner ,then cam cover,than stator cover and then you pull the fly wheel once you rdone that you'll see this




then remove the the cam gear dope the chain down remove it and install the new chain

note when reinstalling the tensioner you have remove the nut on the end of it reset it tensioner install it ... once it installed and timing set then you can reinstall the spring and nut on the tensioner

oh yeah and dont lose the flywheel key
