Guys, I am afraid the time has come. I am very ill, it may be terminal. I have been bitten by the ATV bug for the second time in my life. My wife is uber pissed and I have pushed her Infiniti outside to make room for more bikes. Im afraid she is on the brink of killing me. I hope I live long enough to continue this thread until the end..I could go at any time, if you never hear from me again...please post all my pics in ONE thread, stickied, under the "gone but not forgotten" section. Like I said, I hope I can finish....

With that said, lets get this party started and enjoy my time here.:slayer:

I woke up early thanksgiving morning with the urge to take a dump and look at the ATV trader on facebook...thats why smart phones were invented

(Im inside,....pervs)

On my journey through countless STUPID posts, I ran across THE stupid post...the one I was looking for...in all its glory. So I picked that bitch up for a XD-9 pistol, and $250

I didnt ride much, it was running lean..so I wrapped an old shirt around the air filter to choke it back, it worked good enough to put around. IMMEDIATELY once I got home I ripped some **** off the raptor in search of the carburetors

some plastic clips and bolts were rounded off and **** so I got out my jacked up fastener removal tool.

F6EI381H7UR7P73.LARGE.jpg

Once I discovered the carbs I pulled them off and began disassembly

In all efforts to keep the left carb stuff with the left carb and the right carb stuff with the right carb I activated my OCD

1462841_260635017419686_1677968603_n.jpg

To save the boring stuff, Ill get to the points of interest
-carbs were filthy
-bowl gaskets were trash
-the main jets were swapped...no wonder it was lean

Bowl gaskets FINALLY came in today...once I get those babies in there it will be time for float adjustment

Thanks for all the comments guys! Got a little update, have to make this fast.

1.) Ice storm has come and gone, tree limbs and **** everywhere, UPS still delayed out the ass.

2.) My wife has grown calm(and shes 7 months pregnant) after seeing some results of the raptor, she may have caught the ATV bug, she has agreed to leave the Infiniti outside to make room for the bikes (true story son)

3.)I got a new phone so I lost some pics I had taken...sorry...I hate cold weather, pic time....please proceed cautiously.

Pic of my street (for real)...the whole town was SCREWED

Now that were thawed out, and have power again it was time to work. I got on ebay and found a Shindy raptor carb kit about 300 miles away, so I ordered it and left a note on the order that said "please ship QUICK" and they did, so last saturday i received the kit and got at it!:slayer:

CRAPtor has been crying in the corner like the naked bitch she is for a while now.

LONG, LONGGGG ASS STORY SHORT!

-fought with needle valves, and float level. Bowls would fill, stabilize, 10 seconds later gas would flood out of every orifice of both carbs simultaneously. So I grabbed a beer and stared at the carbs for about 10 minutes. The only logical explanation was the emulsion tube seals not sealing and self siphoning to the top of the carb...that fixed it...what a POS

I hereby present you with a strong running Raptor660R.

Took it out for a ride Sunday, all was well...she could stand to be fattened up a little on the bottom end. Now im waiting on my A-arms (supposed to be here today) and I will update with some pics later!

DS650 got a pipe...instructions called for the clamp mount to go over the logo, it looked like ****. So I drilled the airbox mounting hole and moved it down...worked like a charm!!!

If you stayed with me this long. Pick one:

-Raptor
-DS

What should the next round of mods be. LETS HEAR IT!!:slayer:

Man that's a tough decision, I myself would take the 660, Don't get me wrong I love all the others quads but the 660 would benefit me the most since being I have 2 already. Never rode a DS so cant speak for it but the Blaster and warrior are all out fun. Nice collection Hoover, The Elf on the Shelf was funny as ****

RAPTOR!!!!dude im going to have to get you to explain that leaking carb thing to me better cuz my mukini pumper carb does the same thing, will be good but then after i cut it off and about 5 or 10mins goes buy it will start leaking right out the mouth and the two little jet holes on the mouth, i dont get it!!

I meant pick one of the bikes to mod more LOL

Phantom, what have you done so far to try and fix it?

Got the A-arms on, and YFZ shocks...went ahead and soaked the spindles in degreaser...they were filthy bitches

Looks great man,,, i have cleaned the float needle and the base and have tryed to adjust the floats probly ten times now but durring that prosess my stator died but ive replaced it and now back to trying to get it to stop leaking again..O,, i did test the floats and they are good and cleaned out the inside of the bowl..

Awesome!! Seeing all these pics makes me wanna do a build thread of mine. Love that IMS bumper, goes real good with the black plastics.

@ Phantom:

dont just clean the needle & seat...replace it. Check schematics and make sure youre not missing any seals. Check, double check your float level.

Before you put the bowl on put a piece of 1/4 line on the fuel inlet, blow in the line and raise the float with your finger...it should shut off air flow completely.

Get back with me after doing this

yes i did that too bro but just put a rag under the carb and my finger under the floats and i could lightly rase the floats and it would cut the feul everytime thats why i thought it had to be something internal but then again that carb sat dry for along time then i put it on the quad..I can run the quad and all is fine but after i cut it off 5 or 10mins it starts puddling out ..its strange.

O and the accel pump dont work, the floating part inside the bowl, but i realy dont seem to need it i just left it that way..

Noticed you don't have lights on the 660, if you run across a good deal on some Rap 700 lights, go ahead and pick them up, I have seen them on 1, and they look good on the 660
