Picked up my warrior a couple weeks ago. Pretty poorly maintained, lots of battle scars. In the process of fixing it up and getting it back to a decent rideable machine that i don't have to worry much about.

Here's how she looked when i first got it.

Multiple cracks in the plastics

Took it for a ride that afternoon with my brother (Polaris 400) and our buddy (Raptor 700).

Managed to put the bike on it's side (twisty throttle + tight trails = me over the bars and the quad on it's side) and put some more cracks in the rear plastics.

Started working on it, found the brake pads completely worn out, front wheel bearings shot, ball joints ready to fall apart, and a bunch of other stuff.

Re-did all the brake pads, got all the caliper slides freed up (all 3 were totally siezed, had to use an air-hammer to get one moving at all)

Don't let this happen to your pads...

Also changed out the wheel bearings in the front, and threaded in a grease nipple.

Started cleaning up the plastics. Plastic welded all the cracks, and for extra re-enforcement used some sheet aluminum, and riveted through the plastics.

The plan is to wrap the quad, my brother's quad was yellow and purple, they wrapped it with vinyl and it turned out really well, so you won't really notice the rivet heads. I may replace the plastics eventually, but for now this is a cheap alternative.

Also cleaned up the bumper, since it looked like someone bent it back into shape with a cutting torch. Turned out alright.

Painted the undersides of the plastics flat-black tonight (well, mostly. Ran out of paint...)

Waiting to order a set of asr +2 a-arms next week, I have a thumb throttle coming, need a battery and a couple rear tires to get it decently rideable.

That bumper turned out great.

What front tires are thous?

The bumper looks good from far, but far from good really, but a thousand percent better than it did that's for sure.

Those are Cheng Shin el-cheapo 2 plys. They still have decent tread so ill run em for now.

i tossed in the upper cable as well for free!

Awesome, thanks so much!

Cleaned up the headlights, and painted the housings.

Made up a bracket for a brake light. LED Trailer light, a bit bigger than the stock tail-light and really bright. Need to get a couple banjo bolt switches, but its turning out pretty good.

Found some 1/8" aluminum plate from our old dealership sign at work today. Took a piece and started fabbing up a skidplate. Need to work on mounting it, but it should work pretty well.

Out with the old...

In with the new... (to me, thanks Bones!)

Finished up the skid plate, got some round-headed hardware and bolted it on. Im sure being 1/8" it will get dinged up, but better scraping it than the bottom of my case...

Got a package in the mail yesterday, my a-star +2 a-arms showed up! I'm really impressed with the build quality of these and would recommend them to anyone. They bolted in and fit perfectly. Borrowed the angle finder from work and got the caster, camber and toe all dialed in to the recommended specs.

Now all i need to go riding is to get my plastics back from the vinyl shop where they are getting wrapped. I got images of the design and i'm really stoked to get them back.

That and i'm getting really antsy to get out for a ride before we get a lot of rain.

Looks really good pal! Much better then when we 1st saw her. Time for some performance mods!

Thanks for the compliments :)

lookin good11. one suggestion though is to cut a whole in that skid for your oil dran plug

I was thinking of that. I just changed the oil so i think next oil change i'll probably end up doing that. I'm probably going to have to replace my drain plug too, the bolt head was pretty chewed up.

what kind of graffix are you wrapping the plastic in?

Black graphics on top of a white background. I don't want to give too much away until i see them done. Somewhat inspired by the look of deadlasts' bike, but not quite the same style.

You can hardly notice the rivet heads.

There's a few spots the wrap didn't quite cover that I need to touch up with a bit of paint, (seat latch area, front fender bolt heads, under the seat, etc), but it looks pretty badass. I need to replace my hood, it looks like it was bondo'd back together at one point, it's pretty rough.
