I used a time sert to repair threads in my cam journal, and they work great and are easy to use. They are a solid bushing unlike a helicoil. I purchased a kit and it came with drill bit, counter sink bit, tap, and insert tool, as well as several repair inserts. Put the journal in the drill press vice. Drilled and counter sunk the hole. Tapped it with a wrench, put a little loctite on the bushing threads, finger inserted it, oiled the insert driver and ran it through the bushing and was good to go. I can tourqe the head cover bolt down to spec again, and it doesn't back out when I remove the bolt like a helicoil. If you need to repair threads this is the way to go! Got them from HPR racing.
