GRIP'S

Not sure if anyone has posted this but if your having issues with your grips staying on get sum carb-cleaner'' clean your bar's then spray it in your grip's and slide em on fast the cleaner will act as a lube to make em go on easier and the cleaner reacts with the grips and it will make em melt a lil and stick to your bar's great.. ;D

A little side note to that: Dont but too much carb cleaner on there or it will melt through the whole grip.

Or u could just spit on the bar and a little inside hte grips and let it sit over night to dry.... so that way u dont have a mess when those grips wear down and u try and take them off

Ya but spit is'nt going to bond to the grip and stick, after using the carb cleaner it should be too hard to take them off the next time.

Just use some tie wrap, EVERYONE does it, Slide your grips on and tie em down with the wire, works better then any restainer and alot cheaper then a bottle of carb cleaner.

hair spray works just as good and it wont melt ur grips

Ive used many glues an aresol's -renthal grip glue--scottsgrip glue---supper glue-- permatex--hairspray---3-M spray glue--and by far the cheap auto zone carb cleaner has held great better than any ive listed and about using wire on your grip's that is great as well i use it too just for backup my worst crash was due to one of my grips coming off whillle flying up a hill juping cross breaks and with all the pressure of me pulling when it came off off threw the trees i went wide ass open down hill lol..

well i just put my grips on with spit and they stick PURRRRfect but im a little upset because their a bit hard.

The only thing that ever held my grips on is safety wire. I tried like 10 different tricks I've read in magazines and on the net, with stuff like electrical tape, gas, carb cleaner, etc. Rubber cement, grip glue, grip tape for golf clubs, nothing worked even the slightest bit. But the grips I run are the double compound Pro-Grips, and the compound on the inside is what I think is causing the problem because it's not real sticky and doesn't dissolve from solvents like most grips. Next time i'm going to try another brand.

The stockers are actually pretty bad ass lol, really stiff, but they never wear down and give good grip. My msr dominators are ******* incredible, but they wear out way to fast.

I ordered som tag medium compound grips they wore out fast as hell sucked i luke the hard grips i ordered sum renthal firm compound and love em...

Renthal grips, medium compound with half waffle are pretty awesome. A little firm at first, but you get used to them, and so far they have maintained a good grip and feel. Aquanet works great but a bitch to get off afterward. Now I just muscle 'em on and use a little WD-40, and zip-tie to keep from twisting.

wd-40, are you trying to have them come off easy again? go with something that evaporates atleast, even using a little it still gives a chance to slip some

yeah, how could that possibly work? mine would come off or twist every time i rode without adding lubrication into the mix. Even when i glued mine in they would still come off. Now how the heck could you use wd?

You spray a little on, usually at the bar ends, wipe down with a paper towel, and there is still a light film left on the bars, and then pull the grips on. Sounds stupid, I know, but I've done it a couple times and helps get the grips to slide on pretty well. Haven't really had a problem with slipage, and if any occurs I just safety wire or zip tie it. I just need a little lubricant to get it going at first.
Sorry for any confusion...I only use the wd-40 to help get the grips on, not for getting it to adhere, and it's only used sparingly. It's not like I hose the **** out of it and get it all lubed up like a porn star.

Safety wire or zip's is the best way to go to keep grips from slipping. Maybe I should have just said that in the first place. DOH! :

I used pvc cleaner and cement for pvc pipes. Tried grip glue, electrical tape, hair spray, and a couple other things none worked. Even though I screwed up the last time and bought grips for a twist throttle. The pvc cement worked great. I did have to let it dry over night though.

ah, I need to buy some good grips. I still have the STOCK ones and last time I was riding they kept slipping off so thats something else I need to get for the warrior!
